Construction Management

Project:
Stanford Shopping Center

Client:
City of Palo Alto, California

This project consisted of three new commercial buildings to house PF Chang’s China Bistro, Talbots, Pottery Barn, a bank and others. In addition, all parking lots at Stanford Shopping Center will be reconstructed. The project also required new construction and reconstruction of 3.5 miles of public roads and related public works infrastructure.

TRS provided quality assurance inspection and on-site and off-site civil plan checking services for the major roadway and commercial phased construction projects at the shopping center. TRS responsibilities included monitoring conformance to construction documents and compliance with the City Council mitigation measures and conditions of approval. TRS personnel also performed review of plans, specifications, easement and other documents at various design milestones for road, parking lots as well as building sites.

Other responsibilities included representing Public Works-Engineering at meetings with Stanford Management Company and monitoring air and water quality controls. TRS prepared the amendment to the Maintenance Agreement between the City and Stanford Management Company to reflect new construction. Our staff also issued Street Work and Encroachment Permits and coordinated with various City departments including Planning/Landscaping, Transportation, Water-Gas-Wastewater, Electric, Police and Fire.
