Project:
Master Program Schedules and Reports System (MPMS)
Client:
Mountain House Community Service District (MHCSD)
The Challenge:
Mountain House is a new community being built in San Joaquin County.
Building a new community requires planning ahead to accommodate growth.
As the community develops, adequate support facilities (i.e. fire stations,
parks, schools and police stations) need to be in place for residents.
This planning and forethought necessitates the collaboration within
and between different contractors, government agencies.
The Solution:
TRS identified and analyzed the basic functional requirements and developed
a system that allowed Mountain House to monitor community development
schedules. MHCSD can now see at a glance is projects are behind or ahead
of schedule in key phases of planning, design and construction. Using
the system allows project managers to change and update schedule information
and revise schedule logic as appropriate. The data can be sorted and
customized to provide the most useful tool for the user.
TRS also trained the staff to allow for a smooth transition and implementation
of the system.
Benefits:
The MPMS program provides tools to ensure construction goals on schedule.
A project on schedule is more likely to stay on budget. By organizing
and centralizing the data, project managers can generate reports that
can help them make more informed decisions. The system can also help
prioritize which projects are most important and act on them. MPMS can
compare actual and baseline schedules to keep projects on track. Administrative
staff time is also reduced because they can update things quickly. With
this product, Mountain House can obtain valuable information promptly
and easily.
